According to a report by TTV News, a car dealership in Daxi, Taoyuan, repaired a Maserati for the chairman of a biomedical company. Nearly two years later, when the owner picked up the car, he found that the engine was shaking even more severely than before the repair. After being sent back to the original factory for inspection, it was found that the engine was severely damaged, and the parts replaced by the dealership were suspected to be mostly cheap parts purchased from Taobao. If a business operator knowingly misrepresents the source of parts during a transaction and still induces the car owner to pay, they may be subject to further fraud liability. However, whether a crime has been committed must be determined by the police and prosecutors based on evidence such as the price paid, communication records, the source of the parts, and the cause of the damage. The car owner should subsequently retain the quotation, invoice, before-and-after photos of the repair, the original manufacturer's inspection report, and all correspondence with the dealership as important evidence for civil claims or criminal prosecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
