A woman, wearing a white coat and falsely claiming to be a resident physician at the University of Tokyo in Japan, infiltrated the National Taiwan University Children&#039;s Hospital on an exchange program. During her time there, she performed ward rounds, conducted medical consultations, and even reviewed numerous patient records and requested blood draws. After being caught, the Taipei District Prosecutor&#039;s Office charged her under the Personal Information Protection Act and the Medical Practitioners Act. However, due to this &quot;reason,&quot; the court acquitted her of the Personal Information Protection Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Lawyer Li Yusheng explains the Personal Information Law and the Physician Law<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Attorney Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that the judge determined that while the perpetrator illegally obtained personal information, he lacked the subjective intent to profit from or harm others&#039; interests, and therefore did not commit a crime of personal information infringement. However, he did not possess a valid medical license, yet he practiced medicine.
