Upon receiving the news, his wife Chen Pei-chi quickly raised money, but Ko Wen-je issued a statement through his appointed lawyer, saying that he would consider carefully whether to post bail. The People&#039;s Party said it understood Ko Wen-je&#039;s determination to defend his innocence, and if Ko Wen-je agreed to sign on Monday, bail would be posted immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Li Xin, an attorney at Fidelity Law Firm, said that the judge allowed Ko Wen-je to post bail, but required Ko Wen-je to pay the bail in his own name: this is relatively rare in practice. The purpose may be that if the bail is paid by Ko Wen-je himself, it will belong to Ko Wen-je&#039;s property.
