They also stressed that there was no problem with the room access control and that such a situation had not occurred in the 14 years of operation. They speculated that the door might not have been closed properly and they would clarify what went wrong.<br><br>Li Yusheng, an attorney at Fidelity Law Firm, stated that since this crime occurred within Taiwan, regardless of whether the suspect or victim is a foreigner, Taiwan&#039;s judicial system has jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute the case. If a crime is indeed committed, criminal liability will not differ depending on whether the offender is a Taiwanese or foreign national.
