Taipei 101 Chairperson Chia Yung-chieh mentioned that she was shocked when she first learned of this and immediately reviewed whether there were any oversights in the internal controls. She also said helplessly that she has no public authority to investigate the tenant&#039;s background like the police and prosecutors, and can only rely on publicly available business information for verification. She appealed to the public sector to help verify the tenant&#039;s background in advance, but actually contacting the Economic Development Bureau and the police is still quite difficult to implement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Lawyer Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that Taipei 101 merely rents out office space.
