Prosecutors have apparently discovered that senior executive Li Tian moved valuable antiques and paintings from his luxury residence in the Xinyi District to Xindian for safekeeping. A special assistant surnamed Liu is suspected of handling the related financial transactions. She was questioned again yesterday (24th) and her bail was increased to NT$500,000. Compared to her previous visit to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office where she made no attempt to conceal her identity and even left with a bright smile, this time the special assistant surnamed Liu was much more discreet. There are also reports that she broke down in tears in court, admitting that she was under a lot of pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Attorney Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that criminal syndicates typically have an internal division of labor, with some members engaging in fraud and others handling the proceeds of the fraud. Although Liu Chunyu claimed that he merely ran errands and purchased limited-edition items for the ringleader, the prosecutor likely already possessed relevant evidence and believed that he not only knew about the criminal syndicate&#039;s illegal activities but was also actually involved in money laundering by using the proceeds to purchase goods, thus effectively handling the flow of funds.
