A 68-year-old caregiver became the spouse of a 102-year-old man and wouldn&#039;t allow the old man&#039;s children to visit him, which infuriated the family. They questioned the household registration office staff, asking how they could have allowed them to register so easily. In response, the household registration office stated that at the time, the centenarian was of sound mind and answered fluently, and everything was legal and compliant. The lawyer analyzed that the children would have to prove that the old man was deceived into marriage before they could possibly annul the marriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">A family lawyer at Fidelity Law Firm stated that when people apply for marriage registration, the household registration office will verify whether the formal requirements for marriage are met. If one party or their family later believes that they were defrauded or that the other party was not of sound mind, they can only file a lawsuit in court to annul or declare the marriage invalid.
