Li Yusheng, an attorney at Fidelity Law Firm, stated that the perpetrator in this case did not intend to watch the movie himself, but instead purchased low-priced movie tickets with the intention of reselling them to others for profit. This may constitute scalping, which violates the Social Order Maintenance Act and may result in residence or a fine of up to NT$18,000. If the perpetrator resells the tickets for an amount exceeding the face value, the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Act may impose a suspended fine of up to NT$500,000 for selling scalped tickets.
