On Chongqing South Road in Taipei City, a 78-year-old man named Qiu, who was driving without a license, caused his vehicle to ram into a dangerous position, injuring 8 people and sending them to the hospital! The owner of the Tesla that was hit made a living by driving a multi-taxi. Now his car was severely damaged, so he rushed to the hospital to discuss compensation with the old man's family. Another pedestrian, a 79-year-old surnamed Liu, was admitted to the intensive care unit due to worsening fracture injuries. His family suspected that the driver "deliberately accelerated" and has filed a lawsuit for injury. Lawyers also remind that insurance companies usually do not pay claims for accidents caused by unlicensed driving, and innocent victims may have to seek compensation through lawsuits.

Attorney Li Yusheng from Fidelity Law Firm said that the driver who caused the accident is civilly liable for damages to the victim or his family. However, since the driver involved in the accident was unlicensed, the insurance company may not pay the claim. Therefore, the victim cannot request compensation from the insurance company first and can only seek compensation from the driver involved in the accident through civil litigation. If the driver who caused the accident does not have sufficient property, the victim often faces the dilemma of having no way to seek compensation.
