On the 24th, a 74-year-old woman surnamed Huang went to a chain retail supermarket in Wenshan District, Taipei City to buy ice cream, but accidentally fell heavily. Huang said that when she got up, she found that her hands touched the floor wet. Her son was angry and asked the store for justice. The store manager accompanied the mother and son to see a doctor, and then returned alone to apply for Huang's mother's diagnosis certificate, which made her son sue for negligent injury. The supermarket responded that it wanted to apply for insurance, and was willing to provide lunch boxes to help those who could not take care of themselves.

Attorney Li Yusheng from Fidelity Law Firm said that the patient's medical records are personal information. Without the patient's consent, other people cannot apply for the patient's medical records. If the medical records of others are obtained in an improper manner, there is a possibility of infringement of personal information. Whether the store is responsible for the consumer's fall and injury depends on whether the store is negligent in maintaining and managing the store environment. If a safe environment is not maintained and consumers are injured, the store may be liable for negligent injury and civil compensation. In addition, the judge will also consider the store manager's suspected attempt to obtain consumer medical records, which may be problematic in handling, and take this into consideration when determining responsibility.
