Former People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je appeared in court at the Taipei District Court again on the 16th. Li Wen-tsung, who was then Ko Wen-je's campaign chief financial officer, appeared in court as a witness and was questioned. During the questioning, the prosecutor asked about the 8 million yuan deposited into the New Hometown Foundation. Li Wen-tsung said that the money was given by Orange, but the other party did not say the source. He also mentioned that Ko Wen-je and Hsu Chih-yu were "a group", which meant that other people would not know about their affairs. As for whether Orange handled Ko Wen-je's finances, he was not sure. However, legal experts analyzed that Li Wen-tsung's testimony about Orange might be relatively unfavorable to Ko Wen-je.
Attorney Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Offices said that Li Wenzhong mentioned that Orange and Ko Wen-je were a team, and also mentioned that Orange helped to hand over the money to Li Wenzhong to deposit into the association. In this way, Ko Wen-je may be suspected of accepting political donations, and then giving them to the association in the name of donations, and then Ko Wen-je, who actually has control, took the money, thereby circumventing the regulations on political donations. Li Wenzhong's confirmation is relatively unfavorable to Ko Wen-je.
