In recent years, fraud gangs have relied heavily on land administration professionals for their one-stop service. These professionals specialize in handling land surveys and registrations on behalf of the public. According to a salary survey by the Ministry of Labor, a senior land administration professional can easily earn a million-dollar annual salary. However, there have even been cases of land administration professionals evading taxes of over 100 million NT dollars. One land administration professional surnamed Liu inherited approximately 650 million NT dollars from the wife of a wealthy landowner, but failed to pay 130 million NT dollars in inheritance tax. The enforcement agency applied to the High Court for a preliminary injunction, which finally forced him to pay the full amount in one lump sum.

Attorney Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that if the deceased left behind assets, the heirs should pay estate tax to the IRS within six months. Estate tax is a progressive tax, ranging from 10% to 20%. Failure to pay in accordance with the law may result in the government imposing a forfeiture order or even enforcement proceedings.
