Sun An-tso, the son of celebrities Di Ying and Sun Peng, was detained and held incommunicado by the Shilin District Court. He made a "god-level flamethrower" to exterminate rats, but the matter escalated. When the police searched his home, they unexpectedly found a replica gun, a suspected modified shotgun, and sensitive firearm components. He is suspected of four crimes, including intimidation of the public and violation of the Firearms, Ammunition and Knives Act. The court believed that there were concerns about collusion and destruction of evidence, so it granted his detention and held him incommunicado. He was transferred to the Taipei Detention Center that evening.
Attorney Li Yu-sheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that the modified firearms seized from Sun An-tso's home were confirmed to have a kinetic energy exceeding 20 joules, making them lethal. The judge deemed the suspect highly suspicious and a flight risk, therefore ordering his detention and incommunicado confinement. Sun An-tso will face rigorous investigative procedures to clarify the source of the relevant parts and whether there are any other accomplices. If ultimately convicted, according to the Firearms, Ammunition and Knives Control Act, the most severe penalty is life imprisonment or imprisonment for five years or more, along with a fine of up to NT$10 million, potentially leading to jail time.
