Singer Hsieh Chen-ting, who won the Golden Melody Award for Best New Artist, may become a wanted criminal! Two years ago, Hsieh Chen-ting had a dispute with his ex-girlfriend and was suspected of brandishing a knife in the community. He was later accused of threatening with a knife and even went live to reveal his account. He was prosecuted according to law, but because he failed to appear in court, the court determined that he was suspected of absconding. The bail of 50,000 NTD was confiscated and an arrest warrant will be issued soon.
Attorney Li Xin of Fidelity Law Firm stated that Hsieh Chen-ting, involved in domestic violence and personal data breach cases, was previously released on bail of NT$50,000. However, he failed to appear in court despite being legally summoned, and his arrest and search were unsuccessful. The court determined that the defendant intentionally absconded and ruled to forfeit the full amount of bail and any interest accrued. Following the forfeiture of the bail, the legal pre-arrest procedure will be initiated. If the court issues an arrest warrant and fails to apprehend him, it can issue an arrest warrant according to the Criminal Procedure Law and transfer the case to the police system for investigation. If the former Golden Melody Award-winning singer continues to evade capture, he will officially become a wanted criminal.
