Charles Lee is the Managing Partner of FDLAW, with approximately 20 years of experience in commercial law, dispute resolution and litigation. His practice combines legal analysis with experience in accounting, finance and corporate governance, and covers commercial disputes, corporate and white-collar criminal matters, intellectual property, tax disputes and cross-border legal matters.
Charles holds a PhD in Law from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom and an LL.M. from National Taipei University. His doctoral research focused on patent law, intellectual property and damages in patent infringement cases. Before leading FDLAW, he worked with Deloitte and Deloitte-affiliated legal practice in Taiwan, gaining experience in multidisciplinary matters involving law, accounting, taxation and corporate transactions.

His approach integrates legal rules with transaction structure, accounting and financial records, evidence preservation and litigation risk so that legal strategy can remain aligned with practical business objectives.
Charles handles serious criminal and corporate criminal matters through investigation, detention proceedings, trial and appeal. His work includes corporate and white-collar crime, fraud, financial and accounting-related offenses, corruption-related matters and complex cases involving foreign defendants. Case preparation focuses on timelines, objective evidence, financial records, consistency of statements and the procedural posture of each stage.
Charles earned his PhD in Law from Newcastle University, where his doctoral research focused on patent law, intellectual property and damages in patent infringement cases. His intellectual property practice covers patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets, licensing and corporate IP disputes, with particular attention to the relationship between technical facts, commercial models, evidence and damages.
Charles communicates directly in English with foreign clients, overseas companies and family members of foreign defendants. In cross-border commercial and criminal matters, he provides case assessments, strategy discussions and document review in English, helping clients understand Taiwan's legal procedures and reducing misunderstandings caused by differences in language and legal systems.
