Misappropriating funds from Sinopec to pay Jinghua City may constitute a special breach of trust offense under the Securities and Exchange Act. Given the amount involved exceeds NT$100 million, the statutory penalty is over seven years imprisonment. Therefore, media predictions that he may be sentenced to eight years imprisonment are not without basis."
