If a person intentionally cuts, damages, or discards the bracelet, rendering it inoperable, it may constitute the crime of destroying or damaging property under the official control of a public official or entrusted to a third party under Article 138 of the Criminal Law, with a statutory penalty of up to five years imprisonment. Whether a crime has been committed depends on evidence such as ownership and custody of the device, the actual manner of damage, the perpetrator's intent, and the surveillance records.Criminal casesIn court, ordering defendants to undergo monitoring with technological equipment is an important measure to prevent escape; if the defendant damages the equipment and flees, it may also become an important factor for the court to reassess the necessity of detention and other compulsory measures.
