We continue to track the murder of a body abandoned in the Taoyuan high-speed rail parking lot. The suspect is Thai. But how should foreigners commit crimes in Taiwan? The Criminal Bureau stated that Thailand has jurisdiction over the Taoyuan High-Speed Rail murder case, and the two sides may negotiate and investigate through mutual legal assistance.

Facing the camera, smiling and nodding, he is Qin Xiangyu, the head of Dingli Group. A money-sucking case broke out 11 years ago, with illegal gains exceeding 13.6 billion yuan. However, he abandoned bail and fled the country in 2016. In September 2018, Qin Xiangyu also tried to enter Thailand with a fake passport, but Taiwan had already notified the Thai police and escorted him back.

Zhang Weizhi, who used Bitcoin mining as a gimmick to earn more than 10 billion yuan, was arrested in Thailand in May this year and was also escorted back to Taiwan. The two cases have in common that they committed the crime in Taiwan, fled to Thailand, and the wanted criminals were captured through cooperation between the police of the two countries.

Li Yangji, Chief of the International Section of the Criminal Bureau: "When one of our cases occurs, we will actually have mutual legal assistance during the intelligence stage, and then when we come to mutual legal assistance, we may have to make contact through the diplomatic system." The Criminal Bureau stated that in the Taoyuan High-Speed Rail murder case, the suspect is a Thai national. Thailand has jurisdiction. The two parties are likely to negotiate and obtain criminal evidence files through mutual judicial assistance. After the crime is confirmed, it will be directly investigated, prosecuted and tried in Thailand.
