During last year's 12-strong baseball tournament, the well-known customized laptop manufacturer "Hi-Jie Lion" launched a "1 like for 1 dollar" campaign to celebrate the Chinese team's victory, but the company apparently ignored the campaign due to too many likes. It has now been reported that the industry has filed a lawsuit against more than 300 customers who purchased laptops, causing an uproar.
In November last year, custom computer company Hi-Jie Lion launched a "1 like for 1 dollar" campaign to celebrate the Chinese team's victory in the Big 12 baseball tournament. Any laptop purchased on the official website can be discounted, and there is even a guarantee that there will be no default. Unexpectedly, in the end, they could not bear the volume of orders, so they secretly changed the rules, ended the event early, and removed it from the official website, which aroused the anger of netizens.
Not only has the matter not come to an end, but some netizens have also discovered that the verdict states that Xijieshi has sued more than 300 consumers who placed orders, requesting the court to declare that the "purchase contract is invalid," causing the dispute to escalate.
As the incident escalated, Xijieshi claimed that it was attacked by hackers, but netizens questioned that it could not afford to play with it. Finally, Xijieshi promised to process the order based on 17,000 likes and a discount of 17,000 yuan. It also stated that it would ship and deal with the aftermath as usual, but its reputation was difficult to restore. At the beginning of this year, it chose to announce its withdrawal from the consumer market, which made people think that the incident was over.
Now that Xijieshi has revealed that it has filed a lawsuit against consumers, in response to questions from netizens, Xijieshi said that the defendants are consumers who placed orders after learning from a YouTuber how to crack the system, rather than all customers who placed normal orders. The company stressed that shipment and compensation have been processed.
Attorney Li Yusheng from Fidelity Law Offices said that regarding online shopping, the store has already announced the purchase conditions on the website, the consumer has already placed an order, and the sales contract has been established. If the store unilaterally cancels the order later, it may be legally invalid. In order to avoid the consumer's request to ship the goods, the store took the initiative to file a lawsuit against the consumer to declare the sales contract invalid. Since the discount was proposed by the store itself, if the store regrets the offer and claims that the sales contract is invalid due to a loss, there may be no legal basis for this.
