In order to promote "diversity of judges," the Judicial Yuan will implement a new system of "scholars-to-judges". Starting next year, scholars can become judges. However, The threshold is quite high, requiring not only a law degree but also practical experience. The Judicial Yuan hopes to introduce talents from different fields to accelerate judicial reform.
