Entertainer Kuo Kuo and Prince were sued by her husband, Fan Chiang Yen-feng, for having extramarital affairs, with the latter seeking NT$1 million in damages. The Shilin District Court ruled against Kuo Kuo and Prince today, ordering them to pay Fan Chiang Yen-feng NT$1 million in damages. Prince responded that he respects the judgment and will humbly reflect on his actions. The judgment was released publicly after his name was obscured.

Attorney Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that when considering damages for infringement of spousal rights, courts take into account factors such as the parties' education, professional background, social status, and financial resources. In this case, due to the clear evidence, the fact that all parties are celebrities with a certain degree of fame, their financial resources, and the fact that the defendants did not dispute the amount of damages, the court ordered Prince and Guoguo to jointly pay NT$1 million in damages.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much damages can be claimed for infringement of spousal rights?

The amount will vary depending on the circumstances of the affair, marital status, strength of evidence, identities of both parties, and court practice; there is no fixed standard.

Can I collect evidence of infidelity myself?

Yes, but legality must be ensured. Using methods such as eavesdropping, account hacking, or secret filming may result in criminal or civil risks.

Does adultery always require divorce?

Not necessarily. It can be assessed based on the needs of the parties involved to determine whether they can only request damages, agree to repair the marriage, or handle divorce, parental rights, and property division all at once.
