The business owner refuted the allegations and clarified that they were actively trying to understand the cause of the incident. They also stressed that there was no problem with the room access control and that such a situation had not occurred in the 14 years of operation. They speculated that the door might not have been closed properly and they would clarify what went wrong.

Li Yusheng, an attorney at Fidelity Law Firm, stated that since this crime occurred within Taiwan, regardless of whether the suspect or victim is a foreigner, Taiwan's judicial system has jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute the case. If a crime is indeed committed, criminal liability will not differ depending on whether the offender is a Taiwanese or foreign national. However, the foreign suspect may be restricted from leaving the country until the investigation is complete.
