A shocking murder case has been reported in Taipei! A 19-year-old female college student, after breaking up with her boyfriend, unexpectedly discovered she was pregnant. On the 2nd, she gave birth to a baby boy in the bathroom at home. Unexpectedly, the baby boy died suddenly. The college student did not know what to do and dared not tell her family. She wrapped the baby boy in a towel and hid him in her room with the body for nearly a week until her family discovered it. Only then did she put the baby boy in a shopping bag and report the case to the police station.

Attorney Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that the infant died shortly after the woman gave birth to a boy, and the prosecution will first conduct an autopsy to confirm the cause of death. Although she had no motive or action to abuse or harm the infant, the prosecution still needs to clarify two scenarios: if the infant's death was caused by her failure to fulfill her postpartum care obligations, she may be guilty of abandonment resulting in death; if the infant died of natural causes and she merely concealed the body afterward, she may only be guilty of abandonment of a corpse. The final charge and the extent of her responsibility will depend on the results of the investigation and autopsy.
