The death of young boy Kai Kai at the hands of two sisters surnamed Liu, who were allegedly abused, has sparked outrage. It has also been revealed that two other children under one year old were also victims. Liu Caixuan allegedly tied the infants' hands and feet to high chairs and, upon seeing them cry, recorded the incident and sent it to her sister. She claimed the binding was to prevent the children from falling over and maintained her denial of abuse. The sister also pleaded not guilty. Furthermore, it was revealed in court that the sisters' lawyer is preparing an appeal for a third trial in Kai Kai's case, prompting public outrage and calls for severe punishment for those who derive pleasure from abuse.

Attorney Liu Yiling of Fidelity Law Firm stated that Article 304 of the Criminal Code, the crime of coercion, involves obstructing another person's exercise of rights through violence or coercion, while Article 302, the crime of unlawful detention, is considered more serious, reaching the level of depriving another person of their freedom of movement. Therefore, the criminal liability for unlawful detention is heavier. In this case, the nanny only admitted to the lesser charge of coercion, but the judge will still investigate the entire criminal process. If the judge determines that the nanny's actions reached the level of depriving the boy of his freedom of movement, she may still be severely punished under the charge of unlawful detention.
