According to news reports, a taxi driver deliberately rammed the gate of the Taipei District Prosecutors Office early this morning, with the words "Justice is Dead" printed on the vehicle. Police investigations indicate that the driver is suspected of committing the crime due to dissatisfaction with the outcomes of several past lawsuits. He had previously driven around the Taipei District Prosecutors Office. The case is currently being investigated for charges including obstructing official duties, intimidating public security, and property damage.
Attorney Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that if someone drives a car into the gate of the District Prosecutor's Office simply out of dissatisfaction with a judicial ruling, and the damage to the gate is intentional, it could constitute a crime of property damage. If the incident endangers people at the scene or causes injury to others, it could also lead to more serious criminal charges such as endangering public safety. If one believes there has been judicial injustice, they should pursue legal action through criminal appeals.Criminal retrialThey should seek redress through legal procedures, rather than expressing their dissatisfaction by confronting judicial authorities.
