We remain concerned about independent legislator Kao Chin Su-mei's involvement in corruption and other cases. Yesterday, she was searched by the Investigation Bureau, and this morning (11th) at nearly 1 a.m., she went to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for further questioning. However, after only half an hour of questioning, Kao Chin Su-mei said that she felt unwell and was about to faint. After assessment, the prosecutors decided to suspend the questioning. Kao Chin Su-mei walked out, leaning tightly on the arm of a bailiff. She was taken directly to the National Taiwan University Hospital Emergency Room in a weak state and was quietly discharged at 9:20 a.m.

Attorney Li Yu-sheng of Fidelity Law Firm stated that in the case of Kao Chin Su-mei's alleged corruption, if she genuinely needs medical attention, the prosecutors and investigators will uphold human rights and allow her to receive medical care to ensure her health stabilizes. The fact that the suspect was searched and interrogated for an extended period indicates that many aspects of the case still need clarification. Even if the suspect goes out for medical treatment, it is only temporary; she will have to return for further questioning once her condition stabilizes. While the suspect may indeed use illness as a delaying tactic, even if she does receive medical treatment, the prosecutors and investigators will strictly monitor her to prevent her from contacting outside sources and colluding with others to influence the investigation.
