A stunt double fell from the second floor during the filming of a scene for the Formosa Television (FTV) prime-time drama "Tofu Mama." The stunt double landed on the concrete floor after hitting the ground, suffering a head injury, facial fractures, and falling into a coma. The family is devastated, revealing that only an assistant from the television station offered condolences with six apples, and they were told there was no insurance coverage. The Film and Drama Professionals Union issued a statement calling it a systemic man-made disaster. The Taoyuan City Labor Inspection Office stated that failure to take proper safety precautions could result in a fine of up to NT$300,000. However, FTV clarified that Mr. Su, the production manager, inspected the premises and deemed the safety measures adequate before filming began. They stated that the production team had employer's liability insurance for the actors and would take full responsibility for the incident.

Attorney Li Xin from Fidelity Law Firm stated that if the television station and production company fail to implement safety measures and insurance, they may face administrative penalties such as labor inspections, hefty fines, work stoppages, and name revocation. Civil penalties include occupational injury compensation and substantial damages. If there is clear negligence, they may also face criminal penalties such as negligent grievous bodily harm and violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Although the television station may outsource the drama, the court may still determine that the television station is the "de facto employer," making it jointly liable with the contractor for compensation.
