Since June, he has received calls from the New Taipei and Yilan police. Attorney Li Yusheng of Fidelity Law Office said that suspects who use someone else's lost national ID card and impersonate someone else will be guilty of document fraud and will be sentenced to a fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, detention, or a fine of not more than NT$300,000. People who have lost their ID cards are advised to report the case as soon as possible and leave relevant report records. If someone impersonates someone else and commits a crime in the future and is mistakenly summoned by the police, they can first provide relevant evidence to prove that the ID card has been lost. After obtaining the consent of the police in charge, there may be a chance that they do not have to go to the police station to make a record, but there is no other way to avoid being summoned once and for all, so it is still recommended to keep important documents carefully.
