A jewelry store in Taipei sold a gold bracelet engraved with the classic LV logo, prompting LV to send people to collect evidence and file a lawsuit, which was then filed under trademark law. The store owner protested her innocence, stating that a customer specifically requested an LV bracelet, which is why she purchased and sold it. She emphasized that the value to her was the weight of the gold, not that she intentionally wanted to sell counterfeit luxury goods for profit. However, a lawyer stated that if a product bears the mark of a luxury brand, it is sufficient to mislead consumers and thus raises concerns about trademark infringement.

Fuda Law FirmIntellectual Property LawyerLi Yu-sheng stated that the LV brand logo on the products displayed and sold by the store is misleading enough to make consumers believe that the products are genuine LV items, thus infringing on the brand's trademark rights and constituting a trademark infringement crime, punishable by imprisonment for up to three years, detention, or a fine of up to NT$200,000, or both. While the store can attempt to reach a settlement with the luxury brand, the settlement amount would likely be high due to the brand's involvement, potentially resulting in a net loss for the store.
