Former correctional court president Li Bodao was accused of sexually harassing female subordinates six times and engaging in workplace bullying. The Disciplinary Court today (26th) ruled to dismiss him from his post and suspend him from holding office for one year, barring him from working in any government agency. The panel of judges believed that Li Bodao abused his power as president to sexually harass and bully his subordinates, seriously damaging their personal dignity and working environment. Furthermore, he will be barred from serving as a judge or practicing law in the future, and his retirement pension and pension will be significantly reduced.

Attorney Hsu Wan-wei of Fidelity Law Firm stated that the Correctional Court today dismissed Li Bo-dao from his post in the case of sexual harassment and workplace bullying. The judge believed that Li Bo-dao, as the former president of the Correctional Court, abused his power to repeatedly make physical contact and verbally harass his subordinates, and had long used inappropriate language to oppress them, which seriously violated their personal dignity and damaged the image of the judiciary.
The court considered the conduct as continuous and unequal in power, involving both sexual harassment and bullying, constituting a serious offense; and took into account the individual's subsequent denial and lack of remorse. Ultimately, the court determined that the conduct had severely damaged public trust in the judiciary, and therefore sentenced the individual to dismissal, a one-year suspension from employment, deprivation of relevant qualifications, and a reduction in retirement benefits.
